By Nilanjana Biswas Are you one of those women who run out of patience while carrying out the tedious job of putting on eye make-up? Or is the chill in the air simply making you lazy? Either way there is good news for all of you. Vogue December 2013 edition announces return of the coloured eye liner as one of the top trends. In other words, coloured liners are THE make-up essentials this fall. Either leave your lids bare or decorate it with different shades and sparkles, but DO NOT forget to stamp your eyes with a coloured eye liner.

By Anisha Anil Chadha The awards season was brought to a start last night with the Life OK Screen Awards 2014. While the awards must have been exciting, the fashion on the red carpet was meh. There were surely a few who took our breath away and hardly any disasters, but all in all, the clothing was just not up to par. We really hope to see more exciting styles in the upcoming awards. Here are last night's looks : 1.) Sonakshi Sinha The Lootera actress was hands down one of the best dressed actresses last night. She wore a nude Amit GT dress, with jewellery from House of Chic(ring) and Viange(earrings). She completed her look with nude pumps, side swept hair and hot pink lips. We are absolutely digging this look! By Aishwarya Menon The white top that tore at a party, the pretty midnight blue scarf that has a noticeable tear and the almost perfect t-shirt with a big hole in the pocket. It's painful to toss away your favourite clothes because of a silly tear, isn’t it?! Is there a solution for this? Why of course there is -> Patchwork.
By Aishwarya Menon The easiest way to enhance your beauty is with a lovely smile. Natural Pink lips are a boon to have, but there are many people who have dark and pale lips which frankly, are not that appealing. As lips give a very distinctive appeal to the overall features of your face, dull and dark lips can create a dark spot in your beauty. Lips that have darkened over time can be frustrating to deal with. I’m not talking about the lips you were born with — I am talking about dark lips that don’t match the rest of your face because they’ve been discolored. by Nilanjana Biswas Long nail, glittery paints, pastel coloured ones too are all very trendy. But what I observe these days is the latest trend of French and American manicure catching up. So what is the prime difference between the two? Those who think that they derive their name from the places of origination have completely gotten their facts wrong. Was it invented in America or France? Who knows? The American manicure may or may not have come from USA, after all.
Let us see what is this whole fuss about? To an untrained observer both look the same. But to the ones who notice those pretty pretty hands can clearly demarcate the differences. First up, the base tone differs. In a classic French Manicure pinky tone clear base is applied all over the nail and then a dense white tip is painted across the ends. Whereas in the American same look is imitated apart from usage of color using a creamy colored base, like a flesh skin tone, finishing off the tips with a hint of pink or even red in some cases - yet keeping it quite natural-looking. By: Aishwarya Yadav Flawless makeup and luscious hair are traits that every woman yearns for. We got talking to hair and make-up artist Priya Kapur, on how she perfected the art.
It’s actually quite ironic that being a make-up artist, she did not have any make up on. As she sat patiently in the lounge, waiting for us to start, we noticed neatly manicured nails, thick lustrous hair and beautiful glowing skin. Somehow in that moment, the irony faded away. Starting off at an early age, Priya has seen the industry change and grow over the years. She explains that the millennium has been a turning point for the makeup industry in India, after the disastrous makeup of the 90’s , establishment of foreign brands like MAC and Kyrolan, and more recently Bobbi Brown and Sephora(Delhi) has changed the industry in a way she could have never imagined a decade ago. She vividly divulges that a summer workshop in makeup ended up becoming her line of work, despite her having her own salon at that point. It intrigued her more than hair, which was her first choice as a profession. By Aishwarya Yadav The U.S. Vogue editor Anna Wintour gave Jacobs a standing ovation, which was followed by many others indicating that even without a formal announcement, they knew this was his last one.It was astounding. “It’s been great.” These words were the only indication from Marc Jacobs that he has completed his time at leading retail store Louis Vuitton. Great - the exact term for the amazing show he put up at the Paris fashion week in which he has given the fashionable people some of the most different and dramatic experiences witnessed in recent times. The moment one walked in, one knew. This would certainly be Marc Jacobs’s final show. And what were the signs? It wasn’t just the black that seemed to signal the end. The set was a amalgamation of the greatest hits from his past shows—the carousel from Spring 2012, the elevator from Fall 2011, the hotel rooms from Fall 2013, the Louis Vuitton train clock that ticked loudly before hitting 10am, the escalator from Spring 2013—except that this time, they were all in black, with fur and marble lining different parts of the floor. by Lana Joseph Moroccan Fashion has always been in the limelight mainly due to its tendency to preserve traditional and local styles that have been passed on for generations as far as some of the great civilizations that were found in the Northern and North Western parts of Africa. The highlight of modern day Moroccan fashion is clearly a fusion of contemporary modern styles with traditional Moroccan fashion which have been an epitome of feminism.
It is a fact that Moroccan fashion has created a reputation in the international fashion arena, mainly within Europe. They have managed to bag a number of internationally acclaimed awards for responding towards the modern woman’s needs. Moroccan fashion is famed for its sophisticated appeal and authenticity. Western and European women have seemed to have a liking towards modern Moroccan fashion as it brings out sheer elegance and a unique sense of style. A fine example would be the Moroccan Kaftan which has made a significant transition from the very traditional apparel which was made from heavy and excessive material to the modern day’s figure hugging, sheer and bare gowns. These dresses have been made to offer women natural movement and without the excess fabric. Mint green, a color which in the past was only expected to be seen in hospitals and on hospital employees has now made a huge impact in the fashion world. From sweaters to shoes, this green hue has become the color of everyone’s choice. But why has this specific color has gained so much popularity on the racks around the world? Well I have two reasons for it:-
1.) The mint green color has quite a soothing effect to it on one's eyes. 2.) Pastels have a tendency of looking fresh and young but also sophisticated. They can give just the right amount of pop to a neutral outfit without looking super flashy. And mint green is the pastel hue which is on the top of the game at the moment. The 5 S wardrobe - So which all mint green pieces should definitely be in your wardrobe? I believe you should have the 5 S's of mint green clothing – Sweater, Satchel, Statement, Skirt, Sundress. Oversized Sweater – Winters are usually dominated by dull colors like grey, brown, black and navy. A mint green sweater brings in just the right amount of happy to a dull looking winter. How to wear it? Oversized sweaters and cut off shorts are comfortable and feminine, and if the sweater is mint green, they check the stylish mark too. This look is perfect for a casual trip to the grocery store or night-in with your friends. To amp up the look, you can sport the sweater with black or blue skinny jeans or a neutral colored plain bodycon dress and heels. The oversized sweater in itself is quite overwhelming, so go easier on the accessories. It is a universally known fact that your clothes and shoes speak tons about you. But did you know that your favorite nail polish might also have a huge impact in defining your personality. Just imagine, you see a girl with hot red nails, what is the first thing that hits your head, bold or demure? So you see how your nail polish says more about you than you think. Here are the personality traits described by the different nail polish colors:- 1.) NEON
