Let me first elucidate on what I think of Indian politics. For starters, quoting Shakespeare, I believe All the world’s a stage and politics of India to be one of the Oscar winning performances. It not only includes verbal jousting but also a lot physical demonstrations (As witnessed in Kejriwal’s campaigning this year).
I sometimes wonder how there is so much passion in these candidates while fighting in the elections to serve the country and nothing shows after them being nominated.

But now, Narendra Modi has changed the opinions of millions regarding everything causing him to win with such a brilliant majority that will forever be mentioned in the political history of our country. Dethroning a Gandhi-Nehru introduced party which was in power for the last two terms with such humiliation is no ordinary defeat. I personally believe that it is not only the peoples liking towards Modi but also the dislike towards the others is what made him win. To quote Amazing Spiderman, I like to think Modi gives people hope.
He has caught the heart of millions with his policy of “Maximum governance, Minimum government” and also the evidence he showed for improving Gujarat in the last two terms he has operated as the CM. On that note, he resigned as CM and passed it on to Ms. Anandiben who will be the first female CM of Gujarat.
Modi has not only made sure that he looks good amongst the people but has thrown enough criticism on other candidates to improve his own image. Calling Rahul Gandhi as “Shehzada” which means heir apparently sparked a huge debate among the commoners as well as a strong reaction from the congress.
On that note, let’s just analyze what it means. It is a popular and strong belief among the people of the country that Rahul Gandhi becoming a candidate in these elections was because of his mother and not because he wanted to be so. Even under questioning he seemed to not provide a clear cut answer on this comment. Honestly, I didn’t expect anything out of him.
Modi has promised to bring back up the nation’s economy and is also planning to take up some of the bills that the previous governments failed to pass.
Modi has somewhat shown to us that he’s a common man and has also connected with people’s sentiment everywhere. He had met up with prominent personalities from all over the country during his campaigning. I really can’t believe it if he says he had no motives other than just seeing them. But he still managed to grab everyone’s attention.
NaMo has caused something in this country which has never happened before; something significant and much needed in this country. Despite being 63 years old, he has managed to imbibe his name into the youth of this country and made them participate in the voting this time. He has caused a voting turnout of 66.4% (Data by TOI). This not only shows the desire of the citizens to change the country’s fate but also the amount of hope they have on Modi.

He has also attracted the entire globe’s attention towards him by inviting all the political heads of the nearby countries to attend his swearing in ceremony as the country’s PM on Monday (26th May 2014).
Let’s just hope for better days. Let’s just hope that we don’t make some other person win with such grandeur in the next elections.
Abki Baar Modi Sarkaar! (Honestly, what a brilliant way to get his name out there)
