Last year was an exceptional one for EDM and saw a lot of amazing tracks from the likes of Calvin Harris to Martin Garrix, you had everything to make you go bonkers. This is a list of my personal favourites from 2013, rightly called the year of Electronic Dance Music, along with Soundcloud links for you guys to check these tracks out yourself.
Warning : Lists don't get more commercial than this.
1. Martin Garrix - "Animals"
Martin Garrix had a phenomenal year with his releases "Wizard" and "Animals". Both were insane hits and regulars at festivals all over the world. These two tracks saw him get tours all over the world including Bombay back in November.

2. Mat Zo - "Caller ID"
Matan Zohar, British produced, composer and DJ, saw his first album Damage Control come out in November 2013 on the Anjunabeats label. It's EDM with a difference and has a lot of Indian influenced elements. Apart from "Caller ID", "Ez" and "Lucid Dream" also take the cake.

3. Nicky Romero & Krewella — “Legacy”
Nicky Romero collaborating with American electronic music group Krewella, for "Legacy" saw one of the biggest tracks of 2013 come out. It was played at every major music festival by multiple artists and also saw a tonne of high profile remixes asserting its place on this list.

4. Tritonal ft Phoebe Ryan - "Now or Never"
This is one track I can keep listening to cause of Phoebe Ryan's deep vocals. She has done an amazing job with Tritonal and is bound to get more offers after this song became a hit.

5. Alesso & Calvin Harris - "Under Control"
Alesso has become a household name in the EDM industry after his hit track from 2012, "Years ft. Matthew Koma". The Swede collaborated with Scotsman Adam Richard Wiles , a.k.a Calvin Harris, to produce the sensational hit track, "Under Control". You're missing out on something if you haven't listened to this.

6. One Republic - "If I Lose Myself" (Alesso Remix)
By far the biggest festival track last year was "If I Lose Myself" by boy band One Republic and particularly, the Alesso Remix. Seeing opportunity for a great EDM track, Alesso remixed a popular song to an even more popular anthem.

7. Lana Del Rey - "Young & Beautiful" ( Myon & Shane 54 Summer of Love Mix)
My favourite track of 2013 had to be "Young & Beautiful" by the beautiful Lana Del Rey who penned it down for the film adaptation of 'The Great Gatsby'. Amazingly reworked by Hungarian DJs, Myon and Shane 54, Lana provides deep and dark vocals for this OST which had a tonne of remixes. Out of the lot, Myon and Shane 54, have done the best job according to me.

8. Avicii ft. Aloe Blacc - "Wake Me Up"
Slowing down after "Levels", Swedish DJ Avicii took ample amount of time to produce this beauty asserting his stance at No.3 on DJ Mag Top 100 poll for the 2nd time in a row. This track, like others on the list, have been festival favourites.

9. Krewella - "Live For The Night"
American EDM group Krewella make another entrance on the list with their track "Live For The Night" from their album Get Wet. 2013 was a big year for them, getting a chance to perform at UMF (Miami), killing it there with their amazing live set and stage presence.

10. Daft Punk - "Get Lucky"
French electronic music legends Daft Punk had a exceptional year with Random Access Memories ,releasing on the label Columbia, to critical acclaim. Peaking in the top 10 in over 30 countries, "Get Lucky" was the lead single.

11. Empire Of The Sun - "Alive" (Zedd Remix)
Empire Of The Sun released their second studio album Ice On The Dune with the Australian electronic music duo incorporating their unique sound into the groove. Russian DJ, Zedd, did a smacking job with the track "Alive", off the EOTS album.

12. Nervo - "Hold On"
Australian musicians Nervo had to make an entry on the list with their track "Hold On". These sisters are brilliant performers on stage and are consistent with the few tracks they come out with every year.

12. Cedric Gervais Vs Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness"
Had to make space for this one on the list. Cedric Gervais makes full use of vocal layers provided by Lana Del Rey. Cedric has been a little slow in the scene but this track surely puts a little weight on his shoulders.

13. Fatboy Slim, Riva Starr & Beardyman — “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat”
Probably the most pissing off song of the year, yet people keep playing this one all through the day without hesitating. I have, once or twice, only to realise this what drives us to EDM.

14. Above & Beyond - "Mariana Trench"
Probably the most popular trio for the older generation, it is always a wonder when Above & Beyond release a new track because you know it's going to be an absolute beauty. "Mariana Trench" is nothing less.

15. Hardwell & Dyro feat. Bright Lights - "Never Say Goodbye"
The last entry on the list is by Mr No.1 himself with his young Padawan, Dyro. This track here shows why Dutchman Hardwell rightly takes his place on the throne of EDM.
