Google Aims for the Next Billion Users With Android KitKat. “Smartphone penetration is less than five percent in emerging markets,” said Android head Sundar Pichai while announcing KitKat at an event in San Francisco. KitKat, has a more immersive design, a cleaner font. But the real appeal of the operating system is that it can run on lower-end devices, as it requires only 512 megabytes of RAM.
Motorola, A Google Company, at least when it announced its phone Moto G, had the same vision. They wanted the next billion people to use smartphones and the power of the Internet in their everyday lives. And to do that they wanted to make an Exceptional phone at an Exceptional price. In emerging markets like India, smartphones have a huge market as more than half of the population uses feature phones.
Moto G is a marriage of both these visions. An Exceptional phone at an Exceptional price with the goodness of Android KitKat.

Motorola is going to release the Moto G in India in the first week of February. Lenovo’s fresh buy-out of the US based and previously Google owned company has seemingly not affected the Indian plans for the company. The Moto G, as it is called, is a High End entry level device. It is perfect for those who want a no compromise smartphone, especially the first time buyers. The Moto G is expected to be priced around 13000-15000 INR. It may not be the entry level device that everyone can afford, but Motorola has managed to deliver a budget smartphone that doesn't feel like a budget smartphone. Google can hold its head high. India’s leading online shopping portal, Flipkart, has set-up a separate product page mentioning the coming soon status for the little gem of a device which has received rave reviews throughout the world.
Even though it's priced for the budget market, the Moto G manages to pack in very decent specs.
It features:
4.5" 720p display covered in Gorilla Glass 3
1.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor
1GB of RAM
2070 mAH Battery
5MP rear-camera, 1.2MP front camera with 720p video capture
8 or 16 GB of storage without any expansion slot
802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0
HSPA+
As an added extra, an optional dual SIM version will be available in India, for those who like to juggle their personal and business lives using the same handset. The device actually came out with Android 4.3 but was recently updated to the latest version of Android, KitKat 4.4.2. How cool of Motorola!

From a design perspective, the Moto G is a great looking phone. It shares many of the same design cues as the Moto X, including a curved back that is known to feel great in the hand. Unlike the Moto X — which has a unibody construction — the backplate on the Moto G is removable. You can customize the phone with different colored backs and flip covers. There's not a great deal to say about the Moto G's software, and that's a good thing. The Moto G runs what's basically a stock build of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, recently updated to KitKat. There are no physical or soft keys on the front face of the device. The standard Android home, back and multitask buttons will appear onscreen when needed.
The Moto G has impressed reviewers all over the world with its performance, gaming prowess and reliable battery life. The Moto G isn't just a "good smartphone for its price", it's a good smartphone, period. It may be not have the incredible raw power matching the latest offerings from Samsung, LG, Apple or Nokia, but the phone is a great performer and has great battery life. The price is what makes the Moto G a ridiculous proposition. The phone is almost perfect barring the absence of a microSD expansion slot.
Too often, phones in this price range offer substandard experiences, and Motorola wants to change that and provide a no compromise experience. The phones boasts performance faster than the Samsung Galaxy S4 in doing the basic, everyday tasks like Answering and making a call, launch browser and booting up the phone. This was clearly detailed during the Moto G launch event in Brazil and this snapshot from the same.

If you're even considering buying a Moto G, stop thinking and just do it. Yes, this phone is recommended for everyone who wants a smartphone at this price. Its ultimately one small point that, you would be holding a phone that has a stunning display, a quad-core processor with stellar performance and the latest version of Android and how much did it cost you? Under 15000 INR.
