All of this does affect the sport. It pushes away the people who manage a wonderful sport. Acts of espionage and bribery mean that the sport will suffer and become a toxic waste dump of scandalous news and prosecutions while a small amount of racing happens. I hope that a season like that never comes. Politics is a filthy business. And like unwanted weeds, we can’t really completely prevent it from it growing, unless we drown the fields with pesticide. But I realize that would be too extreme.
