I remember listening to this guy couple of years back, whose stage name I never quite got till I asked a friend. Apparently, 'Deadmaufive' wasn't the way it was pronounced. With only a couple more days to go, India is going to be welcoming one of the most popular artists in the fast paced EDM industry, Deadmau5 aka Joel Thomas Zimmerman, for a 3 city tour happening in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi on the 14th,15th and the 16th. So who is Deadmau5? And what does he do?

Joel is a Canadian EDM artist who started off with his solo debut album 'Get Scraped' in 2005 and has been a game changer since. Apart from mostly doing his work solo, he's worked with a lot of EDM's finest like Rob Swire, Kaskade and Wolfgang Gartner and has also turned up 'A State of Trance'. He's a complete nut when it comes to naming his albums and nobody comes up with better titles for post 2005 releases than "Album Title Goes Here", "Random Album Title" and "For Lack of a Better Name". Take tips from the man who named himself after a dead mouse found in his laptop.
Deadmau5 is completely a fans artists and controls a much larger fan following than new age DJMag No.1's through creative additions in his social workspace. Staying covered up inside a big mouse head throughout most of his live shows, Deadmau5 is a treat to watch live when he's using his 'Cube' setup which he will mostly likely bring here to India. The 'Cube'(figure on top) is slightly hard to explain but it's just a big electronic Cubish thingy in which he stands and controls the lights coming out of the cube along with the music and these lights will blow your socks off.
If you have second thoughts about going, the only two definitive tracks to convince yourself are "Strobe" and "Ghosts n' Stuff".
