What could be called a smooth life is continuously hampered by our own thoughts, mainly negative, which affect our feelings, emotions and eventually, our behaviour and health. So just control your thoughts, keep the positive ones, and flush out the negative ones. Sounds simple doesn’t it? But nobody can actually gain control over their thoughts. Yet, what can be done is that our mind can very much be fooled to learn this art. Yes, this is an art, the ‘Art of Living’. To be able to take all of it when life tries to knock you down and believing all the way through the bad phases that life isn’t perfect. Nothing is. Problems are meant to be faced; they may make life more interesting, they erratically make some of the funniest stories, or set examples and nevertheless may inspire a few, thousands, or even millions.
The ability to take it all cannot be learnt overnight, but needs to be practiced in our daily life. Our cognition of events taking place in our lives defines us. The approach to the problems we face be it big or small, needs to be positive. “Oh my God, my friend just passed by and didn’t even give me a look”. Ever wondered if that friend of yours might be pre-occupied with his/her own troubles at that moment, to be too lost to look around? “Oh damn, I cracked my mobile screen and now I’m going to have to pay up so much!” .Strongly consider being careful to buy a stable mobile cover next time onward, just repair that piece of gadget and move on instead of weeping over the loss of money, because these are yet the very trivial issues (and I dearly hope it wasn't an iPhone). Life has a lot more in store for us.
Not able to buy new clothes? Look at the people who can’t buy food to survive. Not able to get slim? Look at the people who are crippled. God has given us so much; appreciate it instead of demanding for more. Work for more, and life will eventually give us what we deserve. The key to everything in life is being happy at every moment. Yes, it does sound very cliched but really, once you can convince yourself to always be happy and at least stable in the worst of times, you’d have come extremely close to fooling your mind for a lifetime of benefits. I re-emphasize on “close to”, as I said earlier, nothing is perfect, but there is perfection itself in being close to that stage.
So say this to yourself, YOU ARE THE CLOSEST THING TO PERFECT, believe in it, and you will eventually have trained the foolish mind.
