There is the devoted mother who stays at home, but who can also look through every single trick Calvin tries to sneak.
Hobbes- Calvin’s stuffed tiger;his partner in mischief, his best buddy- displays the trait of anthropomorphism and that just adds to the beguilement. Both, Calvin and Hobbes, in a way complete each other. While Calvin is lost in his dreams of grandeur, Hobbes is more of a realistic thinker.
And then of course, there is Calvin. But he isn’t portrayed just as a six- year old who creates an unending menace to his parents and keeps talking to his tiger. Calvin is shown to have a wide vocabulary and an advanced sense of irony. Calvin displays a high level of intellect and often ponders on philosophical dilemmas with Hobbes, explored usually during their sled or wagon rides.
And personally, I’m truly glad I came by it when I did, cause it sure did make my life.
