Being a third culture kid isn't easy. One would rather strive towards bringing world peace than trying to resolve problems in a TCK’s life. Third culture kids are those who spend significant years of their lives outside their parent’s culture. The kids who have parents with transferable jobs are the ones who are screwed the most. You know what is much worse than being a TCK? Being an Indian TCK! That’s right folks, if you are an Indian TCK and due to the inevitable misfortune in your life, which is going back to India, even Lord Krishna wouldn't be able to save your ass, but maybe I can.
I am an Indian TCK and have somehow come to terms with the challenges I faced when returning back to my native place. During my 19 years of existence, I have visited more countries than I have visited states in India. Heck, my first language wasn't even Hindi. I must say that its not easy to cope with the ordeal one may have to suffer, but that doesn't mean that things don’t get easy. I thus present to you, top 5 ways to completely and utterly shed off your ABCD (American Born Confused Desi) image, and bask yourselves into the desi-ness of your Indian brethren.
