Did you ever like Justin Bieber? Umm, good for you. Now you can understand why he’s probably not as widely liked as he, no wait, I don’t want to complete that sentence. So I was pretty bored and I found out one piece of information that intrigued me to write this article. As of 2014, “Baby” by Justin Bieber is the video with most dislikes on YouTube. (Congrats?!)
There was a storm. Most time of the year the little tribes withdrew in packs into the caves below the hills. Ishn’oprahat – the curse of Ishn’or, the tribesmen called the torrential downpour that ruined most of their little wooden barracks and houses. The Ongbara were one of nine tribes that tenanted the rocky plains of Priam. For most time of the year, they dwelled on the scarce vegetation on the plains. With the onset of monsoon, under the guidance of the spiritual clan leader, they retreated to the caves.
With all the hype around such articles and videos recently, I decided to make a list of things we do once we indulge in reading and watching such lists and videos. Trust me, what you read might just make you giggle and amaze you!
1) Waittt, I am not the only one who feels like this?
"A lion doesn't concern himself, with the opinions of a sheep!" -Tywin Lannister
This has been a long week hasn’t it? It is very frustrating and unfair when shows like ‘Game of Thrones’ decide to take a week off, especially after they end the previous episode with two very intense scenes. Firstly with Prince Oberyn Martell standing up to be Tyrion’s champion, this particular scene holds a lot of significance for the rest of the season and trust me the clash of the Red Viper and the Mountain is one that TV viewers will not want to miss! So just wait and watch. And Secondly we see Littlefinger push Lysa Arryn through the moon door. This is the first time we saw Lord Baelish actually do something by himself, instead of being the puppet master that he usually is, preferring to lurk in the shadows while pulling all the strings. And this Is when they decided to take a break! ANYWAY we have to move on and today I am going to tell you a little something about the history behind the notoriously political family of House Lannister of Casterly Rock.
“The winters are hard, but the Starks will endure. We always have.”
- Eddard Stark to Robert Baratheon
YES! That’s right. Having already looked into House Targaryen and their epic history, we now move away from the fire and look into the icy north at House Stark. The Starks are one of the oldest and noblest of Westerosi houses. They are descendants of the First Men and ruled over the north of Westeros from their seat at Winterfell, as the King in the North. Upon Aegon’s conquest of Westeros , Torrhen Stark the then Lord of Winterfell bent the Knee to Aegon Targaryen and bought the north under the rule of the Iron throne. Hereafter the Starks became known as the Wardens of the North. The words of House Stark are “Winter is Coming “and the Starks are one of the few houses whose words are more of a warning than a boast or taunt.
The ten weeks of the year during which ‘Game of Thrones’ airs seem to be the slowest weeks of the year for me, just because the wait between each episode seems to go on forever. But those moments from when the theme of GOT starts playing till when the credits start rolling, I am absolutely gripped to the screen , and I am sure most of you are too. This is because for those 55 or so minutes, we are transported to a world so different, complex and mind-blowingly stunning that we wouldn’t dare take our eyes off. This world created by George R.R Martin is so meticulously detailed and amazingly brought to life by HBO. But being a TV show they do have many restrictions as to how much of the story they can fit into an episode, and hence a lot of this amazing world is lost for people who watch on TV. One of those losses is the history of Westeros.
Once upon a time not so long ago, but rather around 2 weeks, I was flying back to Delhi, my hometown in all its glory, I was waiting for authentic mom-made Aloo Paranthas and was actually looking forward to unlimited high-speed internet. Something, most people at my college crave . The last thing that I was expecting to happen was right round the corner in the form of this tall and beautiful lady of around 25-27 years who sat next to me in the flight.
Very rarely do we find Bollywood celebrities who know how to maintain a decent internet presence amongst their fans. Now the word ‘decent’ may be questionable when light sheds on Poonam Pandey :P Few are aware of her acting career as her online dominance certainly undermines her ‘actual’ career. There is got to be something right when her popularity is booming and we here at DD give you ‘Top 5 things which Poonam does the best’!
So what’s with the whole Twitter craze? Well, if you aren’t on it you would find Twitter just like a social networking website that allows you to update status messages. But that’s not true, though there are some novice users who probably are too excited and clueless about Twitter, so they just tweet random things that come across their mind. The truth is, Twitter is a great platform for you to build a network of people from all across the world sharing common interests, mutually hating and loving celebrities and TV shows and what not, also it’s the best joke book you might ever come across. Oh oh! Also there are some news flashes which you might read on Twitter first and later on some news channel feed! So that is all the description you need.
Every, I literally mean, every one of us has a self-obsessed *Selfie* maniac as a friend. Kindly don’t abuse/ridicule/embarrass them. Remember, they live life in a higher plane, a plane beyond the imaginations of Muggles like you. I would like to call it the *Selfie* way of life. Ever wondered how your ugly friend sees her /(rarely) his face a million times a day without getting frustrated and breaking their phone?
